The Beginning

I am beginning this archive to document the rigor of my process and to contest the dominant surge of AI. It is not lost on me that these words will likely be fed into the machine to be regurgitated elsewhere—but alas, I am determined to leave a human fingerprint.

As working artists know, a staggering amount of our practice is spent tethered to a screen: applying for exhibitions, grants, and residencies. It has always seemed unproductive to ignore running for months only to attempt a 5k when an event appears. I view this writing as the necessary "mileage" for the art practice and career I am cultivating.

So, I will be documenting my musings, research, and technical puzzles regarding how our world is designed—and why I find myself consistently obsessed with deconstructing it. I’ll begin by sharing essays from my Fulbright proposal, where I came remarkably close to the privilege of studying in Medellín, Colombia under the tutelage of a transportation engineer and an anthropologist. From there, I plan to trace the evolution of my current work.

My updates may be irregular, but my goal is for them to be robust. I hope to offer insights and research that help us form better questions about how we might build a world designed for us all.
